The Digital Air Traffic Services (DAATS) Facility at 1114 Len Birchall Way in Kingston, Ontario, marked a groundbreaking advancement in Canadian aviation. Strategically located within Kingston Airport, the 4,415 sq. ft. facility was delivered as a transitional hub designed to support the evolution of air navigation services across the country.

As the first facility of its kind in Canada, the Kingston DAATS Facility established the foundation for Canada’s first permanent digital air traffic hub. The facility was designed to support both local operations and an additional airport, with the capability to provide remote air traffic services for up to 20 airports, representing a significant advancement in air traffic management.

Through the integration of advanced digital technology, the facility enables NAV CANADA to oversee multiple airports from a centralized location, enhancing operational resilience, sustainability, and adaptability. The completed project supports the continued delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable air navigation services for pilots, operators, and communities across Canada while helping shape the future of aviation infrastructure.
